hi there!
Me in a nutshell:
CRNA by training, explorer by choice, storyteller by accident.
I was born and raised in Cebu, Philippines, before moving to the U.S., where I eventually found my way into nurse anesthesia.
I started Traveling CRNA after walking away from a full-time hospital gig in 2020. I didnβt just want a better scheduleβI wanted my time back. I wanted the freedom to slow down, see more of the world, and create a life that didnβt revolve around PTO requests or burnout cycles.
Photography became my way of pressing pauseβof actually seeing the places and moments I was living through instead of rushing past them. Iβm not here to be an expert βIβm here to share what happens when you stop waiting for the βperfect timeβ and just go.
These days, I juggle OR shifts and travel days, camera gear and carry-ons. Some seasons I work hard, some seasons I disappear to chase mountains, street markets, or just a little more stillness. Either way, Iβm building a life that centers time, creativity, and the freedom to choose where I go nextβand I'm sharing it with fellow healthcare workers who are ready to do the same.
If youβre craving more freedom, more stamps in your passport, and more time to actually live your lifeβyouβre not alone.
And you donβt have to wait for burnout to make your move.
"When you connect with other people in other countries, you make the world smaller. If my photos can show a different perspective, then I feel I am doing something worthwhile."
big loves
The sound of waves and being near the ocean
A really good cup of coffee
Crisp fall mornings
Deep conversations over a great meal
Friends who cheer you onβno matter what season of life you're in
A piece of art that makes you stop and think
Visiting a new place (or country) for the first time
The fearβand thrillβof starting something new
A freshly cleaned house and crisp sheets
Fresh flowers, always
A reliable, perfectly broken-in pair of jeans
Podcasts and audiobooks that make long journeys better
Things that light me up:
The short version:
Where Iβm from: Cebu, Philippines π΅π - Proud Pinoy through the highs and lows.
Camera brand of choice: Team Fuji
Favorite place (so far): Italy- from hiking the cliffs of Cinque Terre to sipping wine under Tuscan sunsets, it never gets old.
Dream trip: A slow month island-hopping in Greece
Go-to flight snack and OR snack: Barebells bar and LMNT electrolytes.
Travel style: Usually checking a bagβbecause I'd rather have options than stress over zippers. And always working the points game to turn flights into a little more legroom and a lot less regret.
Current obsession: Finding Filipino restaurants around the worldβand seeing how different chefs put their own spin on the classics.
Best career perk: Being able to stack contracts, then vanish into a new city for a month or 2.. (or 3).
me + my camera
Photography has always been a quiet constant in my lifeβa curiosity passed down from my dad, who found joy in capturing family memories and local celebrations. I remember him setting up a little studio at home and shooting portraits of my mom, and me, always carrying a point-and-shoot camera wherever I went. It was never about flawless framesβit was about preserving the moments that mattered.
That love deepened when I traveled to Europe for the first time, a trip that felt like a milestone. I bought a βrealβ cameraβa Fuji XT10βwithout knowing much, but simply trusting the pull to capture the world with more care and curiosity. It wasnβt until a solo trip to Hawaii that I challenged myself to move beyond Auto, to learn the exposure triangle, and to shoot with intention. What started as instinct turned into something I kept working on. What started as luck slowly grew into a little bit of skill.
Photography has become my creative reprieveβa stark contrast to the structure, precision, and high-stakes environment of anesthesia. Here, I get to break the rules, experiment, slow down, and simply see. Iβm still learning, still growing, but at the core of it all is the joy: the joy of freezing a fleeting moment, of telling a story in a single frame, of capturing something I didnβt even know I was looking for. And that, to me, is the magic.
